I majored in International Trade inuniversity, and my first job was handling foreign trade for a Taiwan-owned factoryafter graduation, primarily dealing with South American markets like Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Uruguay. During thattime, I interacted with many freight forwarding companies. While some shipments reached customers smoothly, I often encountered logistical problems that left me scrambling for solutions.
These shipping issues weren't due to problems at our factory. Instead, once I submitted a booking request to the freight forwarder, various complications would arise, whether it was door-to-door or port-to-port services. I was always on edge, knowing that if our electronic components were delayed in transit, our customers' toy assembly would be postponed, potentially missing the Christmas season and causing significant losses.Shipping to Saudi Arabia
Several Christmas toy orders faced shipping problems. My boss was anxious, and I was even more. since I was responsible for these South American orders. I had no choice but to devote 80% of my time and effort to logistics, visitingfreight forwarding companies, broker company, and trucking company, tracking warehousing and loading, while also contacting several clients to keep them informed of the shipment status.
At last, Isuccessfullyarrangeall the shipments on time. After completing these orders, my boss praised me in a management meeting. Post-Christmas, customers from Mexico, Chile, and Colombia sent thank-you emails to my boss and me, complimenting my dedication as “Taking Care of The Cargo More Than The Owner.” I was overjoyed and realized the importance of this philosophy for future orders.
After two yearsat the factory, I considered starting my own freight forwarding business. I shared this idea with my boss, my boss was very supportive, understanding my ambition. He shared how he started his own business under similar circumstances and givethe factory’s shipping orders to me, genuinely supporting my venture.
Thatis how I entered the international logistics industry. Perhaps it was the arrangement of fate which letme to do the logistics and its challengesattract me to startmy own business. I am immensely grateful to my boss, he not only gave his own shipping order to me,but alsointroducedmany taiwanfactoriesand trading companies to me, allowing me to successfully start my international logistics service business.
